Role Title: Volunteer Youth Football Coach
Location: Acton, West London
Commitment: One mid-week evening training session (school term time) Saturday morning league games
Reporting to: Head Coach / Club Committee

About Actonians Girls
Actonians Girls is a dynamic and growing independent football club based in Acton, West London. As an England Football accredited club affiliated with Middlesex FA, we are committed to developing female football talent at all levels. We have teams ranging from U9s to U18s competing in the Capital Girls League, providing a clear and proven pathway into senior football. Our senior teams include the first team competing in the FA Women's National League (Tier 4), the reserves in the London & SE Women’s Regional League (Tier 6), and the 3rds in the Greater London Women's Football League (Tier 7).

At Actonians Girls, we offer a supportive and inclusive environment where players of all ages and abilities can develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love for football. Our club is passionate about empowering young female footballers and helping them reach their full potential both on and off the pitch.

We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic, and reliable volunteer coaches to help us continue growing the future of women’s football.

Role Overview
As a Volunteer Football Coach, you will play an integral role in delivering engaging and development-focused training sessions for young players. This role provides an excellent opportunity to inspire and support the next generation of female footballers, while also enhancing your own coaching skills in a rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver enjoyable, age-appropriate training sessions for girls’ teams (entry-level to youth).
  • Provide encouragement, feedback, and mentorship to support player development.
  • Organising match days, including team selection, tactics, and in-game support.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during training and matches.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun environment that builds players’ skills, confidence, and love for football.
  • Support players in improving their technical, tactical, and physical abilities.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and club staff to align with club goals and standards.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for football and youth development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage with and motivate young players.
  • A willingness to undertake coaching qualifications (e.g., FA Introduction to Coaching Football, UEFA C Licence).
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding (training will be provided).
  • Ability to work well in a team and represent Actonians Girls positively.

Desirable

  • Previous coaching or playing experience (not essential – enthusiasm and commitment are key).
  • FA Level 1/Introduction to Coaching Football qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Current DBS check (the club can help facilitate this).
  • First Aid certification (training opportunities available).
